Can a child have multiple JISAs opened for it?

My grandson’s parents opened a cash JISA for him when he was born and they make regular monthly payments into it.
Would they be allowed to also open an investment JISA for him so that I can intermittently pay into that for him? That would mean fresh payments would be going into both types of JISA each year.

Yes, but the maximum investment amount will be shared. So you can have a max of £9k invested this year across both types.

No, a child can only ever have a single Cash JISA and a single S&S JISA.From second page of link above.
Your child can only have:
- 1 cash Junior ISA
- 1 stocks and shares Junior ISA

https://www.gov.uk/junior-individual-savings-accounts/add-money-to-an-accountAnyone can pay money into a Junior ISA, but the total amount paid in cannot go over £9,000 in the 2024 to 2025 tax year.
Example
If your child has £2,000 paid into their cash Junior ISA from 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025, only £7,000 could be paid into their stocks and shares Junior ISA in the same tax year.
