How to add a signature

I am new to this forum and a bit overwhelmed due to visual impairment and disability.

How do I create/edit a signature ?

I seem to find settings for signature which say something about video not been supported, but there does not appear to be anything I can edit as my Sig, just tick boxes and a field that does not let me type in it..

Is there a URL someone can post to help me find the appropriate screen please?

My username refers to the 43 times it took Google and the site let me add a username that was not used or not suitable due to hyphen or something.  Hcapcha is so much more disability friendly.

Hi @NotArobot24 - welcome to the Forum - we're sorry that it's been difficult to get signed up.

We've moved your post from the Energy board to the Site Feedback board, which is the best place for threads about how MSE itself works.

As a very new member, you don't yet have access to the facility to add a signature.

Once you've been a member for a bit longer and posted some more, you'll be able to set a signature here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/signature

Unfortunately a site like this attracts spammers, and there have to be some extra precautions to protect against people signing up with new accounts to bombard the community with spam.

  • Ah thanks for letting me know and providing the URL

    How does one edit posts?

Is that limited for new users too?

Yes, you'll also automatically gain the ability to edit your own posts once you've been a member for longer and posted some more.  You'll see your account changes from 'Newbie' to 'Forumite'.

We're deliberately a little vague about how many posts and how long it takes, so as not to make it too easy for spammers to circumvent the restrictions.
