Under the Real Time Information system they are meant to report payments on or before the date the payment is made.

Because of how UC operates, timely and accurate RTI reporting is essential, sadly some employers don't seem to care about their legal responsibility to do so or the knock on impact of them not doing so.
If I understand things correctly you've received your holiday pay on 1st of August, even if this was reported correctly via RTI it would not have had any effect on your UC calculation for that assessment period as it was zero already because of earnings and tax rebate. . You are concerned the holiday pay will be incorrectly reported within your next assessment period and affect next months UC calculation?
If so, until that actually happens there is not a lot you can do other than check what is reported in your personal tax account on Government gateway. If your old employer does report incorrectly at the end of the month then that is the time to fix things. It's faster if you can get the RTI corrected via your employer (or ex in your case) although I see you would rather not go this route. It can instead be corrected if you contact DWP but it will take a bit longer as they need to carry out relevant checks to confirm what you're saying is correct.1 -

yes , I was hoping the holiday pay would go into the august UC award calculation together with my current wages and tax rebate cos I knew all combined would result in a £0 uc award
leaving September award to be just my current wages then it would finally add up low enough to actually get some UC.
so if this holiday pay appears in the September UC calculation resulting in a £ 0 award again,
then I should note in my UC journal for the DWP to investigate and hence adjust my September UC award of some money after investing,( if proving my old employer reported my holiday pay late without an adequate excuse as they are meant to tell HMRC on the same day they paid my holiday pay into my bank) cos,the holiday pay wages were actually paid into my bank a month prior, eg August 1st. and should have only affected August award, not Septembers award
unless my old employer has a genuine excuse for reporting my holiday pay late to hmrc
but I have a suspicion they have no excuse and will simply report this holiday pay earnings along with all their current employees wages to HMRC on the last day of August , which is the normal pay date for current staff.
this is also why they won't give me my holiday pay wage slip until the last day of August
i have logged on to gov gateway, it shows wages have always been reported on last day of month from this employer.( which has been the day they have paid out prior wages, in fact this holiday pay was promised to be paid out on July 31st, but it never did, thus me investigating and them saying sorry the manager dealing with your holiday pay is on hols themselves and never put it through, but we can rush through a manual same day bank transfer for you, which they did on august 1st, rather than you waiting till end of August, but sadly you will still have to wait till end of August for the actual wage slip)
they have not reported this holiday pay in an intermediate august update .on gov gateway
so I suspect it will only appear in the last day of month august reporting in my gov gateway of this old employers wages declaration of wages( hol pay) paid out to meChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed.
