The NPC sign refers to National Parking Control Ltd, a company that was dissolved in February 2023.

Unfortunately it does look like you will have to pay. On 2 accounts. First as they have said, because of not being parked properly. The argument would be against yours that when you got out of the car you should have noticed it was not within the lines, and you would have been expected to go back in and correct this (a hassle I know) unless as was said, there was something in front that stopped you from doing this. The second reason is because you were parked in a parent and child bay and it clearly states the vehicle should display a valid parent and child permit.I know how annoying this must be for you as we have been done in the past for what were very simple mistakes. When needing urgent medication my husband had parked having just one tyre literally touching the yellow line behind and we were done. The other time was our fault. We had parked in a large carpark's disabled bay and hubby had incorrectly displayed where the arrow was on the timing card; therefore although we were only gone an hour and a half and were well within the time, by doing this and appealing with mitigating circumstances we couldn't get it annulled and we had to pay up. Try explaining though and hopefully some decent person will let you off.0

Pray tell... What is this 'valid parent and child permit' you speak of?Capyboppy said:The second reason is because you were parked in a parent and child bay and it clearly states the vehicle should display a valid parent and child permit.4 -

Could try using one of these for other types of "emergency parking":

martinbuckley said:Why did you park in a manner that blocks what little room there is between bays? Was there an obstruction at the front of the bay that meant you couldnt fit in, or was it just a case of poor parking? If its the latter, then I'm struggling to see what mitigation you have for avoiding a fine.
@martinbuckley I'm struggling to see why you think this was a "fine"?

The one referred to in the photo! Admittedly I missed monk's reply, but I stand by my second comment above. I presume the permit has been concocted possibly a joint effort between David Lloyd Clubs and the NPC.KeithP said:

But nobody on here would pay this PCN, even if the landowner hadn't cancelled it.
Please stick around this board if you want to learn more and to help us regulars fight the PPC World scammery but please never this:"Unfortunately it does look like you will have to pay."That literally never applies to PPC threads except if someone has ignored a court claim and has managed to get a CCJ. There are no cases where people without a judgment against them "have to pay" a typical 'outrageous scam' scam PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
