I've got the select 123 account, It is no different really, the debit card is black, or at least my current landscape format one is - if the colour of their portrait cards are different I don't know. you get a higher ATM daily withdrawal limit. You used to get the free use to Santander ATM's in other countries where the 123 used to limit you to Spanish Santander ATM's only. But that now has been extended to all Santander UK current accounts.

I think the other point is they seem to guarantee UK answering of your telephone banking. That has always been the case when I have had the need to phone them, they've always been really good to be fair. I did once for some reason fall under the radar of their private banking section and was approached for private banking (they sent me an email and then phoned) but it never came to anything. Their preferential savings rates etc weren't competitive with other providers.

Select customers can also benefit from a flat rate will writing service of £90, I've never got around to this (yes I know I should) but I don't know if this is competitive or not. They also offer the lasting power of attorney service from £250 - this I know is not a bargain as I sorted one out for Dad some years ago myself directly online on gov.uk and that's £82.

I do not want an "I am worth mugging" card.
Fear not, it's basically the same design:

I'm not convinced that muggers are scoping people out based on their payment cards, either.
This is the credit card not the debit card for the select account.

I’ve received a new debit card for one that expired last month for my select account and it looks like this. I doubt it gives off the “I’m worth mugging vibe” Even more so as I use Apple Pay more than the physical card.

The "World Elite" MasterCard costs £15 per month. I expect that you have to pay more for a "Master of the Universe" card.

Yes, I know. I was responding to @GeoffTF who was saying he avoided the World Elite credit card because he felt the card would make him a target for street crime.

World Elite is a MC brand packaged by a few banks for their high(ish) tier customers, the fee comes (mostly) from the fact that airport lounge access gets thrown in. I think HSBC has or had something similar. For that matter, the old Capital One card that gave 2% cashback (happy days) was also World Elite...

Incidentally, I still have the 'Select' banner on my Santander desktop login screen, God knows why, it's not like any salary has been paid in there for donkeys years.

You've got diamonds as the background pattern. Us plebs have to make do with (prosecco/cava?) bubbles.

With Barclaycard, it seems that you just have to pay the fees to get an MC branded card:
You just have to be high tier for parting with your money.

Or you could have the free Avios Mastercard:

Have you tried licking it? Looks more like lemonade to me.
