I may be wrong - but I just get the idea that the Evri delivery person has a front room full of pilfered laptops, tables etc.......and I will never see my table.
Indeed you could be wrong but you might be closer than you think.

A C4 investigation programme found that Yodel Hermes (they since changed their name to Evri) sold off 10% of their parcels at auction.
C4 bought some of those parcels at auction and delivered them to their surprised and pleased recipients who had been told their parcels had been lost.

Yodel did not change to Evri. Yodel still exist. You may be thinking of Hermes.

    Most likely scenario:

Evri use local delivery agents in many cases who are self employed. They get targets per day to deliver and often can't hit them so the mark an item as delivered and then deliver it the next day.

You can't claim compensation as you did not have a guaranteed service with contractual compensation for delayed delivery. If you want this you will have to pay far more than £9.99 for your delivery if you can even get it.

I have messaged Maplin who won't even refund the £9.99 that I paid them for delivery
They tell me to wait another 2 days !
A big mistake that I need to learn from
What do their standard delivery terms state?

I'm assuming you went for this option:

    Standard (UK)
    2-4 Working Days

    Small Items (most products)
    £3.49 (FREE over £35)

    Large Items (e.g. desks, chairs)
    £9.99

Has it gone past 4 days yet?   If not - you don't really have a case for refund of delivery.

If only there was a way for someone with internet access to find this out.

    It arrived this morning..
It was not a very good shopping experience and I won't be using Maplin again!
I blame Evri, which reflects badly on Maplin

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.
