I ordered a table from Maplin and unfortunately - It’s being delivered by Evri – I have experience of this delivery company from the past – they “misdelivered” a £1500 laptop then “lost” it !!
It was supposed to be delivered between 5:30 and 7:30 yesterday

This time, they claim to have attempted delivery of my goods, yesterday at 5:30pm – but at this time, I was looking out of the window and my wife was in the front garden.

They claim to be trying again today at some point – no idea when.

I have tried to contact them, but their bot won’t let me ask a question.

I have tried the seller – who doesn’t knows and tells me to contact Evri.

Can I claim compensation for wasted time ?

No, but I DO know how you get to speak to a real person
When the bot asks you 'is this about an item already delivered' you say YES then give it the reference number of something you DID get delivered. The bot can't deal with after delivery problems, so will put you through to a human, at which point you can ask about the delivery you are expecting
  • Should I be dealing with Evri or Maplin?

Evri while you are still expecting delivery. Once it is 'delivered' and you don't have it, then go to your seller

    So it's now Maplin?

If it says they will re attempt delivery today, then wait for that at least.

    Hello OP

You should be dealing with Maplin, it's their obligation to deliver (Evri are just their sub contracted party that has nothing to do with yourself :)

Not sure how good customer service is at
Maplin, but unless the person who does Evri deliveries in your area has a Facebook page or such to contact direct you won't get anywhere trying to talk to Evri general customer services.

It's not uncommon for Evri parcels to be marked as attempted delivery, it just means they knew they wouldn't get to your area, hopefully they aren't too bad and will turn up today.

I have messaged Maplin who won't even refund the £9.99 that I paid them for delivery
They tell me to wait another 2 days !
A big mistake that I need to learn from

  • I may be wrong - but I just get the idea that the Evri delivery person has a front room full of pilfered laptops, tables etc.......and I will never see my table.

Looking at their site £9.99 is the delivery fee for standard, had you paid the £14.99 for express and the parcel was late then I think there would be a fair argument for either £4.99 or £14.99 to be refunded. :)
