To be precise, the manufacturer made too little profit to spend out on having it re-certified, so it went on the verboten list.....and stuff the hill farmers. If I wanted to be alarmist, I could say, "Bracken gives people cancer!" but instead, I shall link to a respected journal where a study suggests there might be a significant risk. It's not the full text.https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0045653512013458
OTOH, as I recall, many of us found it a useful plant in our courting days!

Yes I know it's dangerous stuff but what can you do when it's 6ft high outside my boundaries

As you probably realise, the bracken growth on your property is connected through the root network to that on adjacent land, so this makes controlling yours no quick and easy task.Bracken can be eliminated by cutting, but you have to persevere, probably over 2-3 years. I've been able to beat it into retreat from quite large areas, finally by daily patrols chopping any newly emerged shoots after the regular initial rounds of cutting thick growth. Denying it facility to photosynthesise eventually causes it to loose the energy to survive and the roots die, at least that's what seems to happen in my experience.Evolution, not revolution1
