Hi, I am new to the forum and really interested in putting up a DIY porch. I have done quite advanced DIY in the past so think I can do it. The link above was good, but what about the joint between porch and house. How do you achieve that?0

the 2 main joints (uprights) are covered in mastic before screwing to the wall. and mastic is applied again to the outside gap. just like a window.
the roof joint is usually done by using flashing.
its easier these days cause they make a self sticky type.
(pros prefer the older type).Get some gorm.0
