GENERAL FORM OF JUDGEMENT OR ORDER FROM COURT

Options

Dear respected admin,

Yesterday I received the attached general form of judgment letter as I  parked in a car park controlled by UK parking control at Amanda Way Beckton last year. As my wife is the main driver and I am the additional driver, the letter was issued in her name.

I work on behalf of ONS (Office of National Statistics) and my company, Verian Ltd (formerly Kantar) Public Ltd. I was there collecting prices to ONS measure the inflation rate of shops like H&M and River Island.  Sports Direct, Smyth toy, Clark. Superdrug, all the shops are located in that car park. As I was there for more than 4 hours. . . I was in that car park for this reason as there were lots of prices to collect, so somehow, I overstayed.

There was no option to pay for extra time in that car park. We have a target we need to do in 2 days within a month to provide  ONS .I have my ONS letter with me and also have the list of the shops that I need to cover, which was an email instruction from my manager .

I already sent those in my previous reply to the court.

Recently I received the attached letter from the court and there is a dateline on 12th August at 4 pm. I would highly appreciate it if you advise me on what the process is at this stage.

Excellent that the allocating judge has picked the claimant up on their woefully inadequate Particulars of Claim. What you have is a copy of the order the judge has sent to the claimant. They will be hard pressed to fully comply with that order and the claim is likely to be struck out.

What exactly did you put in your defence to the claim? Can you please show us the original claim form, the PoC in particular. Was the claim filed by UKPC themselves or by DCB Legal?

Whilst you may have been working on behalf of the ONS, I don't think that gives you any special rights that absolve you from the terms of parking on private land. There are always defences against these robbing scammers but you must be more careful in future when asking on private land.

Once the claimant has provided further PoC that comply with the order (unlikely) then you will have a further 14 days to submit a new defence based on the further PoC.

Is this related to your previous thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6516504/uk-parking-control-small-claims-track# ?

There's precious little detail. It looks like the car company have served deficient particulars of claim and the judge has ordered them to actually say what they're suing you for and the legal grounds they claim to do so, or else to stop wasting everyone's time.

If the claim form and above letter are in your wifes name, you are not involved here

Everything must be done in her name only

Irrelevant, what matters is who is the registered keeper and that is why it will be in your wife's name and she must defend it, although of course, you can help.
