Water charges discount after posting two pictures of our garden

Reading a recent MSE letter and seeing the words 'large garden' in relation to getting a charges cut, I sent an email requesting a reduction and including a picture of the size of our garden and a close-up of the 4 rain water barrels that collect some of the water which we then use to water our veg plots and then water any dry ground.  The collected water is also used for outside cleaning purposes.

I was rewarded with a refund of £250 for previous years and a monthly reduction of £7.

Wow , didn't realise that was possible.
Might give United utilities a buzz and see what they can do for me.

It\s always been the case at least with Severn Trent,  that if you can prove your surface water doesn't discharge into a sewer you get a reduction in the water rates
