Chip cash ISA ban after transferring out !

Just been chatting with Chip Support. I asked them about not being able to reopen the cash ISA at a future date. They've advised me that I can close the whole Chip account, then open a new Chip account, which would enable me to open a new Cash ISA:

"..... during a transfer, your Chip Cash ISA would be closed, which is something to keep in mind if you plan to switch providers due to the limitations of our system. However if you close your entire Chip account you would have the ability to open another Chip Cash ISA on your new Chip account.I understand your concerns and will pass this feedback along, as I can see how this could feel restrictive. Please let me know if you need any further clarification or assistance with your account.".

I've reverted and raised a complaint to point out that their website:

only says:

"Please note that when transferring your cash ISA out of Chip, your Chip Cash ISA will automatically be closed once the transfer is complete and you won't be able to reopen it once it's closed."

none of what she has mentioned in the response to my support ticket is mentioned on website link above.

p.s. from what the OP says the email does not mention anything about being able to close the whole Chip account and being able to open a new Cash ISA by opening a new Chip account either!!

It would be interesting to learn whether what you've been told is correct. It might be.

Could be that she made an error or made it up because she wants me to go elsewhere
