Talk talk cancelled service

Hello, has anyone experience with their bband being cancelled for no reason then
being told you have to sign up to a new 24month contract.
I have been told I have no other option. Seems like a breach of contract on their part.
Thanks

Afaik talktalk always get you to take on a new contract once the one you are on ends

) and with just December's CPI next April, after the contract ended.
So I duly had a rise of the December '23 CPI in April '24 (a bit above £1, if memory serves) but that was that. And there has been no attempt at all by TT to push me into another contract. I'm near the point of deciding whether to switch from FTTC to FTTP (which means a new contract, not necessarily with TT) or to abandon that cable-based stuff altogether and go 5G with a MiFi on a rolling contract... we are not big internet users and we're away for at least half of the year and still have to pay for a broadband line we don't use.

Is it really that they have cancelled your contract (and one would assume cut your service off)?
Or has your minimum committed period come to an end and the price will go up to the higher base price unless you sign up to a new minimum committed period to get the reduction again?
You could of course use this as a reason to leave a company in financial difficulty and poor service (years of being at the bottom 3rd of the customer satisfaction surveys and high for complaints per user base).0 -
Well no because when they tried to put me on the new contract they couldn't because my existing one 18month one(8 months left) was still on the system and they could not proceed with it. Its laughable
Now I can't log into may account either
I didn't realise that they so poor and have read all about their financial problems. I just don't want to have to pay
the cancellation fees

If you had 8 months remaining on the existing minimum term , who was instigating this ‘new’ contract, did they contact you ( which would be unusual as you are not approaching the end of the current deal ) or did you contact them ? .
If they cancelled your existing deal , has your service ceased and you have received a final bill , potentially including 8 months of early termination charges , or is the service still working ? , if it’s still working that suggests although they didn’t move you onto a new deal , your existing one is still in place .
If you have lost all service due to their incompetence, obviously you shouldn’t be charged early termination ( cancellation ) fees , but provided they waive that ( if they are trying to charge you for their error ) , I would take the opportunity to join a different ISP.
FYI , there is no reason why any ‘account’ details should change simply by re-contracting and potentially changing the product speed or whatever, so why do you have two lots of login details etc ?0 -
Could this be part of the Shell to TalkTalk migration. Shell white labelled TalkTalk already, but have seen some mentions of re-contracting being mentioned by people.0
