Second that. Plus, in the back of my head, I vaguely remember something about if you close Chase completely you won't be able to open a new account with them at a later date. Hoping someone will clarify this or tell me I am speaking rubbish.ThePirates said:
I recommend leaving it open but dormant. It's one of the best ways to generate new accounts for switch bonuses.steven141 said:I closed my Chase savings account now. I will keep for the 1% cashback and then once that goes, I will probably close the account.
I'm keeping it anyway, as I find the debit card very handy for using abroad.1 -
Thanks, I will probably keep it open. I’m out of bank switches for the time being as I’ve been with pretty much most of them but it’s handy for switching like you said and also I just remembered about not being allowed back as well.0

I'll keep the account until the 1% boost run's out and see where the market is at that point.I like the App so far, got a few pots for the smaller savings goals I have while my Emergency fund is in the boosted account.0

Same here with the boosted rate should be reasonable competitiveanalystfish said:I'll keep the account until the 1% boost run's out and see where the market is at that point.I like the App so far, got a few pots for the smaller savings goals I have while my Emergency fund is in the boosted account.0 -
According to my Chase app the 1% boost was extended until 16 January 2025 but I have now discovered it expires on 6 November!!!!!!!!
I made a complaint to Chase. Apparently there are two versions boost saver 1 and Boost saver 2. It is VERY misleading and NOT clear on their emails and support pages. Basically they fobbed me off and closed my complaint. Don’t assume yours will be extended until January.0 -
There were numerous posts on here about both Chase boosts. The 1st which ends in November was introduced first, and many, including myself, were a bit miffed that we didn't qualify, in my case for having more than £500 in savings account. Then came boost 2, which I did qualify for. Others who had previously qualified for 1st boost, managed to close it and apply and get boost 2. If you didn't do this, can't see how you can complain if your boost only lasts until November. Or, is it the case that Chase are not honouring boost 2 if you had boost 1?Peter_Kendrick said:According to my Chase app the 1% boost was extended until 16 January 2025 but I have now discovered it expires on 6 November!!!!!!!!

My boost 2 account still shows a January end date and I previously held boost 1. There is nothing in the T&Cs that I could see that would allow them not to honour the boost 2 date if you had previously opened and then closed a boost 1 account.ToastLady said:

Same. I closed Boost 1 and opened Boost 2. Jan is the date on both the app and the interest change email.masonic said:

They didn't automatically extend accounts from Nov to Jan if you only had Boost 1, and there was never any correspondence that suggested they would do that. But there was nothing stopping anyone closing Boost 1 to open Boost 2 which many on here have done. @P@Peter_Kendrick, I wonder if you misunderstood about the extension.0 -
Weirdly the app is still showing my boosted account as 4.75% AER on the main page. This is despite them having sent email Oct 22nd warning the 1% boost would end Nov 4th (a week ago now). However if I go to the transactions page for that account it says the expected 3.75% at the top, but then Im not certain it has not always said that there.0

I've got the boost until January and it says '4.75% AER Boosted' on both the app homepage and within the account itself, so I suspect your rate is 3.75% and it's a display issue bug within the app.ekiflump said:Weirdly the app is still showing my boosted account as 4.75% AER on the main page. The normal Saver rate will decrease to 3.50% and the boosted rate to 4.50% this Thursday (14th Nov), following last week's base rate reduction.2
