Vigin Media renewal

Hi,just thought I'd share my recent experience with trying to renew my contract with Virgin Media. We have an 18mth contract (broadband and TV) due to expire. Original price 39 p/mth (now 43.50) going to 90/94 at end of contract.
Aware that I needed to give 30 days notice to cancel I contacted them last Thurs to ask what price they could do.After 35 min call was told they had a "Volt" deal with O2 at 39 for tv and broadband plus 5 for O2 sim. Sim wasnt required but could be of use so,said Id check coverage in our area and get back. Phoned back Sun to progress and was told, after 37 min call of mainly silence and whispers in backgroung, that deal had "expired" they wanted 50 for tv,bband.Asked to speak to manager but was told they werent available weekends (patently untrue as they were checking with them throughout). Put in complaint via website and waited till this Tuesday to recontact as I believed that was final day to cancel. This time was quoted a figure of 60! Told they change deals available regularly (daily obviously, possibly by the minute?). Surprisingly,we have cancelled and gone elsewhere.
So you may want to note the price obviously increases closer to date for cancellation and they are using time pressure to get highest price they can. As confirmation of this, I finally received an email from them on the Weds afternoon (after Id cancelled) saying contract was up for renewal and I needed to contact them to cancel, literally the last possible moment (assume it would have risen again,as email quoted monthly fee of 99 now)
