oil change

ive been quoted £195 from ford, they again said it dosnt need doing
theres a local tyre,exhaust, oil change, mot center near me, using castrol oil £140 going for that
as i said at the start its going into ford (service contract) for its service which comes with free AA recovery breakdown which is handy

If you want it changed - I'm sure the garage would quote you to change it at the same time as the service. They'll have fixed price servicing, but a menu of add-on items. 

I've a van which has a 2 year or 20000 mile service schedule. I get it serviced with an oil change every year. The Renault garage is happy to take my money, and they tell me a lot of owners do the same, many of them don't trust 20k oil changes.

the price from ford garage is the price for when it goes in for its service
1 last thing kwik fit uses shell oil and as my car is a ford which recommeds castrol could i get away using shell at kwik fit? or shall i stick by castrol, i'm planning to keep the car a good few years so want it kept in top condition

Garages stick any old oil in. It's very difficult to get them to use something specific. How are you going to prove what they've used?

If you've got a warranty, service it on time and with the recommended items in case something goes wrong.
