ive been quoted £195 from ford, they again said it dosnt need doing
theres a local tyre, exhaust, oil change, mot center near me, using castrol oil £140 going for that
as i said at the start its going into ford (service contract) for its service which comes with free AA recovery breakdown which is handy0 -
If you want it changed - I'm sure the garage would quote you to change it at the same time as the service. They'll have fixed price servicing, but a menu of add-on items.
I've a van which has a 2 year or 20000 mile service schedule. I get it serviced with an oil change every year. The Renault garage is happy to take my money, and they tell me a lot of owners do the same, many of them don't trust 20k oil changes.0 -
the price from ford garage is the price for when it goes in for its service
1 last thing kwik fit uses shell oil and as my car is a ford which recommeds castrol could i get away using shell at kwik fit? or shall i stick by castrol, i'm planning to keep the car a good few years so want it kept in top condition0 -
Garages stick any old oil in. It's very difficult to get them to use something specific. How are you going to prove what they've used?0

If you've got a warranty, service it on time and with the recommended items in case something goes wrong.
