FTTP -EE or Plusnet

Is there any difference?

I've been using a 5G router on EE for 2 years but they just finished installing fibre to my area and I'm keen to get it set up.
Looking at the prices PN it's cheaper than EE, so does anyone know if they are worth going with?

I have my own Deco router and mesh system so I won't be using the router they send me so that's no concern to me.

Any advice on the better provider?

    Both basically BT

Plusnet seem to be on a slow shutdown, will end up under the EE brand ( which is replacing BT as the parent brand )

Plusnet won’t offer telephony , but that may not be a problem , PN are the BT Group ‘value’ brand , much like Now is with Sky , EE will become the main residential consumer brand , BT becoming business….unless there are extras with EE that you think worth the premium, and telephony isn’t needed , ‘under the hood’ both PN and EE  fundamentally the same service .

Thanks. Don't need a phone, haven't had a landline the last 18 years and don't need it now.
I think I'll go PN then and hopefully it's smooth enough getting my router to work with it.

It may not matter to you, but unfortunately planet do not offer ipv6, whilst bt/ee do. Conversely I believe plusnet offer fixed ip at an extra cost, whilst bt/ee do not
