End of Contract Charges (from INFO to 85075)
I am currently using iD Mobile, 12 month contract ending 27 August. Been looking at the SIM deals on MSE, and considering a switch.
I tried texting INFO to 85075, mainly to confirm my contract end date. It didn't actually tell me the end date, but iD did text me information about switching costs, and the estimated final bill given was £15.21.
On the website it gave more info: If I ported away today, it would be £6.21 for the remaining term, plus the account's outstanding balance of £9. Thing is, the balance arises from the monthly bill covering line rental until 27 August.
Does this mean, if the plan is cancelled before 27 August, I would be charged twice for the remaining contract period?

You should get a pro-rata refund if you;re moved away before the period of the payment has passed. So for argument's sake and to make the maths simple you pay £30 a month. You pay £30 on 1st of the month. You leave on the 17th. You get a pro-rata refund of £13/£14 for the unused days.1

@fiish What you're seeing is the amount to pay up to the end of your minimum period whilst the bill generated is for the next month (days rather than calendar month) which you pay in advance. If you port out before the end of the minimum period, your final bill will show a charge to the end of the minimum period minus a refund for the days over the minimum period you've already paid for.
This is assuming you don't port out too close to the date your bill is generated in which case the final bill will follow from that and will show the refund.1
