Northridge finance DCA enquiry

I sent the MSE template to northridge finance company complaints email address on 11.03.24. I received an automatic response and then on 16.03.24 and official confirmation email from the complaints team handling the enquires. I then received a further email on 22.04.24 apologising for delays. I have never received an email since confirming if I did or did not have DCA added to my agreement. I know things have been halted until September but I was under the impression I would still find out before then if DCA applied to me or not. I’m really confused by how it works if someone could please explain? Should I have heard back by now ? I thought the decision on having to pay out was September but I thought people would still find out before then if DCA was added to their agreement.

I know things have been halted until September2025. Not 2024.I was under the impression I would still find out before then if DCA applied to me or not.Not necessarily. The FCA itself has recognised there is an issue with archived data or destroyed data under the data protection act and that has hampered its review. Hence why its shoved it back to 2025.Should I have heard back by now ?No. The FCA has given firms until December 2025 to deal with it but before then, we have to wait for the FCA to decide what types of DCA it has an issue with. The expectation is that negative DCA will be the only type they will have an issue with. Not neutral or positive (neutral being available to use but wasn't used and positive being where it was used to reduce the interest rate). Many early responses where people have been told whether DCA existed or not have not looked at how it was used or if it was used. Just whether it existed to be used. So, a good number of those getting these early responses are going to be disappointed.
There is no hurry. Its going to be over a year from now. So, sit back and load a diary reminder for around this time next year.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Has anyone who logged a complaint with Northridge had any update? My last correspondence came in April with Northridge saying it's taking longer than usual work through the DCA complaints.
Appreciate this maybe a stalling tactic until the process/FCA has reached a conclusion.0 -
