Cost of International Texts
I learned today that my provider, 1p, charges a minimum of 9p for a text message to New Zealand. I suspect much of the 9p if not all is profit as it is possible to send a free text message to NZ and many other countries via afreesms.com.
I usually use WhatsApp but no everyone wants to use it.
I am interesgted to learn which UK mobile provider has the cheapest rate for texts to NZ.

The New Zealand Commerce Commission sets the termination charge for an SMS within New Zealand at NZ$0.06 which is roughly 3p.So an international text would cost at a minimum the termination charge plus the cost of getting the text to New ZealandEE charge 89p to text New Zealand
