Three: Any joy getting worldwide Go Roam Passes included in a new contract?
Hi folks,
Am after a bit of advice, please. My contract is due for renewal with Three (my minimum term ends today) and I have been on live chat with Three's customer support team over the last couple of days. I've been a Three customer for a decade or so now.
Yesterday - after a lot of backwards and forwards, after I said I wanted a 24 month contract and roaming - I was offered the following:
Apple iPhone 15 Pro - 128GB with 30 GB
Lite data, over 24 months with £0 upfront. The total monthly
payment will be £51.71. That’s made up of £39.71 for the phone and £12 for the data plan which are 2 separate agreements, plus 70 Daily Roaming Passes, which allow you to use your plan's allowances in our Go Roam destinations in Europe at no extra charge.
I did ask for those roaming passes to be upgraded to an version which can be used in any Go Roam destination, i.e., outside of Europe, but I was told that isn't possible.
This morning, I went back onto the live chat and after a bit more of discussion, I was offered:
iPhone 15 Pro 128gb for £39.71 with £0 upfront cost for a 24
month contract and Lite 30GB data, unlimited minutes and texts for £7
for a 24 month contract. The overall cost of the deal is £46.71, plus 70 Daily Roaming Passes, which allow you to use your plan's allowances in our Go Roam destinations in Europe at no extra charge.
Sorry for including some of the marketing spiel - copy/pasted from the transcripts.
Again, I pushed for those passes to be upgraded to an version which can be used in any Go Roam destination, i.e., outside of Europe, but I was told that isn't possible.
I then phoned 333 and spoke to a friendly person in the 'thinking of leaving us' (for want of a better phrase!) team who again said it isn't possible to add any more data or enhance those passes.
In all three cases, I pointed out iD Mobile has a better offer, e.g.: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/beta/basket?utm_source=Money Saving Expert&utm_medium=AWIN&utm_campaign=157118&affiliate=AWIN~157118&awc=6366_1722948063_11c4c61a71f1903137475b915e252a64
I suppose my question is this: has anyone on Three managed to get the passes that enable roaming outside of Europe included in the contract, or is this a fruitless endeavour? That offer is on my account's notes so I wondering how many times I can ask different people the same question before I become a pest.
Any thoughts would be welcomed.
Cheers.

If you're willing to ditch Three, ID Mobile (which run on the Three network) have a much better deal.
iPhone 15 Pro with 100GB data per month is £29.99 per month (£239 upfront). ID allow free roaming in Europe (up to 30GB per month). See the link below to the Carphone Warehouse.
Even better, you can go through Top Cashback and get £50 cashback.
Three have stopped offering free roaming on monthly contracts. If I ever need roaming outside of Europe, I order a Three PAYG SIM (which still includes roaming) or just buy a local SIM.

On a separate point, you always get better deals by ditching and switching than spending hours negotiating with sales people on the phone. If it was me, I would take the ID deal and request your PAC code from Three. Loyalty is worth zero.0

Loyalty is worth zero.I'm inclined to go with this option, but ID only offer free roaming in Europe, whereas what I'm ideally after is for Three to upgrade the 70 one-day roaming passes to be valid outside of Europe as well, hence asking on here to see anyone else has had any luck going down that avenue.I guess someone working in a store wouldn't have any more leverage than the people on the phone?0
