I booked a journey with Lufthansa from Heraklion in Crete to Edinburgh the route was via Frankfurt. The first part of the journey was operated by Discover Airlines and was 3 hours late arriving at Frankfurt resulting in me missing my connection to Edinburgh where I ultimately arrived over 12 hours late. Where do I direct my claim? is it to Discover Airlines or Lufthansa, or both?

It's the operating carrier that's responsible, rather than the one you booked through, so Discover in this case, assuming your flight was at least three hours late into Frankfurt.0

Wouldn't it be the delay into Edinburgh that mattered here as it's one booking?eskbanker said:It's the operating carrier that's responsible, rather than the one you booked through, so Discover in this case, assuming your flight was at least three hours late into Frankfurt.0 -
Yes, if it's one booking - I was meaning that if the first leg was delayed enough to trigger a claim then that's a simpler scenario to deal with and more obviously the responsibility of that carrier. Having said that, you're right that it's the end to end journey that matters if booked on a single ticket, and that might entail enough distance to qualify for the next band....mdann52 said:

What was the reason for the delay HER-FRA?0

Thanks,
reason for the delay was never identified by the airline. I'll take the issue up with Discover and see what happens. Has anyone found an official site that details actual take off and landing times?0 -
www.flightradar24.com is the most popular.1

Flightera is good, as it has subscription-free data accessible for many years of history, and also includes gate times (useful for borderline UK/EC261 claims) as well as take-off/landing ones, for the most recent flights.Disgruntled24 said:Has anyone found an official site that details actual take off and landing times?
On-time Performance, delay statistics and flight information (flightera.net)
