....... and definitely add in the rest of the template before you send.
  • Hi all I have received an allocation to court how long roughly is it for a court date? As I have not completed my witness statement yet. Also I've just realised the court I've chosen is next door to the car park where I received the pcn so hoping this doesn't go against me.

What exactly have you received?  Normally an 'Allocation to Court' gives a hearing date. Or is it the 'Directions Questionnaire' you have received.

How long before the hearing date will depend on whether your chosen court is a busy one. I'm afraid it's the 'how long is a piece of string' conundrum.  Could be weeks, could be months.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Sorry I have received a 'notice of transfer of proceedings' letter. Just that it's been transfered to my chosen court for allocation. I just wondered how long it would take

There is no real answer, courts are backlogged, so perhaps two or 3 months for the court order and perhaps another 3 to 9 months for the hearing date

Meanwhile, you will have to do mediation on a phone call, see the newbies sticky thread and the 12 steps
  • Thank you @Gr1pr I should have mentioned I had the mediation call on 13/11/24

Carry on following the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread then the NEWBIES thread for WS & evidence stage.

How long it takes varies from court to court. Some time in 2025.  Come back in good time to do your WS bundle then.

Hi all, I've just received a without prejudice, save as to costs email from Dcb legal.. they're offering quite a significant reduction of £60 from £280 however I've heard of them not notifying the court of this even if you do pay the £60 so that's what puts me off. Also I've not put together my WS bundle yet so that's the only thing that's making paying the money desirable. Do you know how long I pay have left to get my bundle together?

Sorry I sent it before I edited. It was meant to say do you know how long I may have left to get my ws bundle together? I've not been given a court date yet but scared I'll miss the deadline. Would you recommend paying the £60 or is there a chance they still will go ahead with court proceedings after that?

No.  DO NOT PAY. You'll pay nothing.

You will get a discontinuance but we don't know your deadline for your WS. Only you know that. It's in your Notice of Allocation and is likely to be 14 days before the hearing.
