I cannot find anything in my home which is anywhere near power hungry,0 -

There are two of us in our 3 bed detached house and we use on average 2600kWh of electric and 6000kWh of gas a year.
We don't skimp with energy use either. We have electric shower, 2xelectric ovens, washer/dryer, dishwasher, american style fridge/freezer in the kitchen and a large freezer in the garage, we also have a motorhome which is plugged in for 24 hours before we go away.
Admittedly it's a modern 5 year old house so the gas bill is small because it is so well insulated.0 -
It's uncommon for a 3-bed semi with gas heating and cooking to have an annual electricity usage of 7570 kWh, as the national average is around 3000 kWh. Verify your meter readings, conduct an energy audit, and consider having EDF investigate a faulty meter. If discrepancies persist, you may need to escalate the issue to the Energy Ombudsman again, especially given your past experience with overcharging.

Thanks everyone for the help, I think the meter test is a good idea when I get home from work, I had a quick last night and the meter reading does line up with what EDF are claiming via their remote reads.
I do have an electric shower, (850w) - It gets used for around 10 minutes a day maximum.
All heating is gas powered (Combi Boiler), no electric heating in house.
I do run a dish washer pretty much daily (2 years old), We have a tumble drier but have not used in years, (washing line or we use dehumidifier and clothes horse combo in wet/winter months)
Washing machine used 2-3 times a week.
We have two under counter fridges (90CM) and one tall freezer in the garage on 24/7
Only other power hungry item could be a gaming PC used most evenings (750W)
If 7500KWH a year sounds reasonable/feasible with this setup I guess its right, just strange as I'm usually pretty diligent turning stuff off when finished with it, and my lights cant be left on (auto-off).

Sorry, my mistake it is in fact 8.5KW. that said I think it's quite clearly a mistake since 850W showers don't exist, and me making this mistake on a forum when describing the issue, would not change my meter readings or bills from the EDF, so not really helpful in any way, shape or form. But if this pointless correction gave you some satisfaction, fill your boots!

Are you sure that the shower is only used for 10mins. My sons showers in the same size shower cost me around a pound a day as they are using almost 5kwh. That accounts for almost 2000 of the 7500 we use annually.

Very confident, I say the average is 7 minute shower, I know because my wife and kids only have baths, i'm the only one to use the shower unless its one of the 4 times a year my wife's had her hair dyed and the hair dresser washes it using our shower.0 -
Have you checked the meter regularly to see what is being used hourly, can you check last thing at night and then first thing in the morning to see what over night use is?0
