  • Mediation update.
I questioned why I had 2 cases against me, feels like i'm being dragged over the coals twice and they should have been consolidated. They stated they are 2 seperate offences and they can deal with them as they please....

Their starting position was £195 down from £255. I stated I don't understand the costs, haven't received a full break down and dispute liability. I stated that I parked for 8 hours and paid for 12 hours. The car park was empty and therefore they have actually benefitted from my payment. I ended with saying as far as i'm concerned this is a complete scam and I am not prepared to pay anything. At that point the mediator stated "well I can't be the judge of that" and politely ended the call.

Did they actually use the word "offences"?

Hopeless. And what the Mediator said about this isn't true:

    "Mediation update.
I questioned why I had 2 cases against me, feels like i'm being dragged over the coals twice and they should have been consolidated. They stated they are 2 separate offences and they can deal with them as they please...."

Can you complain that the mediator was misleading the defendant that is terrible if they conduct these sessions with incorrect terminology!
  • Second Mediation Update:
The claimant didn't turn up! The mediator couldn't get hold of them, it's almost like the claimant couldn't care less about wasting everyone's time.

Ah now THAT means they will be liable for your costs if the Judge takes the view that the new Mediation rules intends.

DEFINITELY cover this in your WS and quote the new rules about sanctions for missing Mediation.

  • Of my 2 claims. One has been transferred to Leeds as per my DQ request.
For some reason the other has been transferred to Sheffield? Who do I need to contact about this? I won't be going to Sheffield, it should be at my local court as requested.

Email Sheffield and tell them to please reallocate it marked for the attention of the allocating Judge dealing with near-duplicate claim xxxxxx at Leeds which is your local court. Sheffield isn't.
