I haven't found anyone with anything positive to say about TsoHost and today, the reason why dropped into my mailbox which opened with..."We're emailing to let you know that we will soon be retiring the tsoHost brand and transferring its customers, including yourself, to 123 Reg. This means that we will migrate your tsoHost account to 123 Reg." I wonder if this was planned or if this is Godaddy's management realising that the reputation of tsohost is in tatters and this action is the only way to retain their customers! I'm really looking forward to this next migration!!DullGreyGuy said:Yup, was with CSNM 20 years ago or so who were bought out by someone who were bought out by Vidahost, who were bought out by TSO
Had stuck with them because after the last migration they bodged up our email so gave us a free second hosting package to use for email only but after a bit cancelled the paid for package and just had the free one for 2-3 years. Still had lots of problems with receivers saying our mail had been caught by their spam filters so moved email away from them about 18 months ago.
This latest migration has been a pain, they haven't migrated the nameservers and say it's impossible for them to do it so they've lost our business. Tickets have equally been ignored so things have been migrated and I'm just ignoring their invoice

They look interesting - their starter hosting for 5 sites would be my option...I just need to find out if they offer telephone support on that plan as I can't see it anywhere. Thanks for the recommendation pdel61.pdel61 said:I was with TSOhost for many years and the service just got worse and worse, a couple of years ago I've moved to:

To be honest 123-Reg's support isn't great either but as a domain registrar its been exceptionally rare that its been necessary to have support. I had considered a move to them with all the TSO nonsense but in that process spotted that they are actually all subsidiaries of GoDaddy and use shared resources which meant an immediate no from me.
Personally think it was planned as the last migration coincidently moved people onto the platform used by 123-Reg2 -
I haven't decided where to move my hosting too yet. I have just received and I suspect the original poster has an email saying that I'm going to be moved to 123reg so I think I had better start looking around sooner rather than later.
There was a discussion on this forum last year and perhaps there's some ideas to look at on that thread.

TSO, 123-reg etc are all subsidiaries of GoDaddy. I suspect that the move a couple of months ago put everyone onto the same architecture that 123-reg use so it'll be more of a rebrand than a move. I wasnt aware of the common ownership and so when looking around was surprised that the "how to set up your email" were identical to TSOs including the really long names for the IMAP servers etc.alanjuk said:I haven't decided where to move my hosting too yet. I am sad how things have gone with Tsohost. I started with them around 10 years ago when they were a small firm, run by a few guys in London. I deliberately chose them because they were a small independent company. Phone support was excellent back then too. Over the years, I've noticed so many changes that I've not been happy with.
Following today's email from them stating that the Tsohost brand is being retired, and it's now 123Reg running things, I've gone from something I looked for (small independent) to a huge global brand. Not happy at all.4 -
Thanks for this - yes I'm looking around even thought 123reg have been good on their domain name sales support - sadly Godaddy is a no-Godaddy host for me. A suggestion by a poster on my other thread is www.cloudabove.com...they look quite good, they're small and their Trustpilot reviews whilst only a few are excellent. There's also a pretty good review here UK Hosting Provider: CloudAbove - General Discussion / Hosting Forum - ClassicPress Forums I think I'll be giving them a try unless something better comes up in my searching.alanjuk said:I haven't decided where to move my hosting too yet. I switched my hosting from Ionos to Mythic Beasts - for what I need, it's £30 a year. I was taking advantage of Ionos special offers which would make it cheaper, but if I forgot to cancel, take out a new contract and re-upload the site and re-create all the email forwards, it'd get quite expensive. I've just moved a second site to them, without any issues that weren't down to the time it takes for DNS to transfer.

We were with VIDAHOST and then they became TSOHOST.
We had the "c-panel migration" a few months back and it went smooth enough, though our e-mail configuration needed to be updated in Outlook. The support on that was efficient enough TBH.
Now we received the e-mail (yesterday I think) about the move to 123 Reg.
Is the issue that people are mentioning experiencing issue with the "c-panel migration" or the move to 123 Reg?0 -
Huge problem with TSohost since they sold to godaddy.. I have already migrated most of our customer to Webhostuk.co.uk fast hosting service at a great price. They did help me with migration every time I need help. One thing I like about them is customer support you can try them if you wish.1
