This really is a non-issue! All you (as the buyer) should be worried about is the TOTAL cost of the item, unless you are a shareholder in Ebay why should you even care if the item is 1p with £4.99 postage or £4.99 with 1p postage?
why on earth it should cause anyone to  is just ludicrous.====0 -
TBH I always thought it was so that if you return the item they will only refund you the purchase price (eg 1p) and keep all the postage!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

Oh lets get the debate going again....
Why is that a problem?
We've had this debate before... perhaps you've forgotten that in the event of a problem, the seller is only obliged to refund the item cost, not the postage price.
So, pay £99 postage and £1 for your item, and expect to get screwed if you end up needing to return it.
Laugh all you like at the 'ebay police' but it's a fairly persuasive argument to me.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

so let me see if ive got this right......... if you are getting a refund what you paid for postage does not need to be included and only the item price is refunded??0
