This really is a non-issue! All you (as the buyer) should be worried about is the TOTAL cost of the item, unless you are a shareholder in Ebay why should you even care if the item is 1p with £4.99 postage or £4.99 with 1p postage?

why on earth it should cause anyone to  is just ludicrous.

TBH I always thought it was so that if you return the item they will only refund you the purchase price (eg 1p) and keep all the postage!

We've had this debate before... perhaps you've forgotten that in the event of a problem, the seller is only obliged to refund the item cost, not the postage price.

So, pay £99 postage and £1 for your item, and expect to get screwed if you end up needing to return it.

Laugh all you like at the 'ebay police' but it's a fairly persuasive argument to me.

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • thanks everyone,
  • so let me see if ive got this right......... if you are getting a refund what you paid for postage does not need to be included and only the item price is refunded??
    :)
