TV License Renewal Prices

Hi All,
I wonder if you could help me with a query. I have recently renewed my TV License and I have always received it by email, but I'm confused on the pricing when I went through the process this year (2024). I will try and send screenshots (with my data obfuscated) but basically, when I click on the renewal tab on the website and enter my details, it came up with the renewal price of £159! When I clicked next and went to proceed to enter my payment details, this price then changed to £169.50! Any idea why this happened and why the additional £10.50  difference in price? Surely that's not the Admin fee!

it went up in april by 10.50

First price is what you paid last year, second one is the cost this year. It has increased.

Paying by monthly DD is probably more money-saving than paying in one go.   

But, yes, the fee is now £169.50.

Thank you, i did not realise it went up in April. When you're deployed, you don't always follow these things 😅

Unless the Government put a freeze on the licence fee then it increases every April, normally in line with inflation of the September of the previous year.
