Hello, I purchased a Nuke with Nissan in 2014 under PCP .
1  Is it worth making a claim?
2  How can I find the original car registration details, as I have no previous documentation to hand?

Thanks
Will

The current FCA investigation is only on finance relation to cars not weapons on mass distruction.

    1. A claim for what? If you are going to allege that you think the dealership inflated the interest rate in exchange for higher commission... thats up to you to decide if it's worth your time or not. At present the FCA have said their guidance won't be out until May 2025 and companies will have until December 2025 to consider complaints

Obviously if you remember you got the car on 0% APR then you'll just be wasting everyone's time but its your right to do so if you get a kick out of these things

    2. You look through your records, photos, bank statements to see who the PCP was with and the reference etc.
  • Didn't expect sarcasm for an error, and the tone of your response presents as confrontational. If I had access to the information areas you stated I would not be asking my original question.

You haven't really told me anything of value, but thank you for your response, if you felt it provided an outlet for venting.
  • They literally told you where to go and look for where the details might be? Was the expectation that someone would post the registration in here?

It was a joke at the expense of your error.   Most normal people would have laughed.

If I had access to the information areas you stated I would not be asking my original question.
    Lets look at your questions:

1  Is it worth making a claim?
2  How can I find the original car registration details, as I have no previous documentation to hand?
1 - You haven't told us why you think you should make a complaint.  You haven't told us anything about the finance agreement.   So, how can we answer that question without any facts?
2—That information is not in the public domain. It is your records that you keep where you have the best chance, especially if the lenders have destroyed their records in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

So, the problem isn't the answer to your questions.  The problem is that you do not like the answers to your questions.  The reference to looking at photos was a good one.  Most people have photos of their cars in recent years.

  • Check your bank statements around the time for a reference for the payment, give your full name and address at the time of said agreement and as many details of the vehicle as possible - and if you can find any old photos of the car in question you might be able to glean the registration number. No guarantee you were subject to a DCA at the time, but worth asking the question to them.
