Does a JISA affect your ISA allowance?

Hi All

If my son opened a JISA for his child, would it affect my son’s ISA allowance for that year? Or can he have £20k in his own ISA and £2k in his child’s JISA? I want to put money aside for my grandchild but don’t want it to affect my son’s ISA allowance.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

No. Money in the JISA is owned by the child and is nothing to do with a parent's allowance.
