Now broadband no Internet late at night

My contract is due for renewal. I started shopping around but realise providers are not offering land lines.

I was thinking of taking the renewal offer with Now but there are a few issues that I've had.

Occasionally I lose Internet, it's usually really late at night (I work from home on a late shift that ends in the early hours). Have others experienced this? I check the website and they say everything is OK the line works OK etc etc, I generally wait a while and it's resolved, sometimes faster than others. I'm fortunate I have sky mobile so use that as a hotspot but it's a bit frustrating.

Before I have been with plusnet and sky which I think was classed as now broadband and both use bt as far as I'm aware, just different routers and I haven't had that before. Sometimes my fire stick has Internet issues but I occasionally had that before and I think it's heavy traffic generally.

I have made my old router into a bridge as the Internet didn't seem to reach all parts of my small home, but that seems to do the trick.

On the plus side I did have problems before where Internet seemed slow on my work computer and that seems to have resolved since going back to now.

I wonder if I stick with now for the next year's contract to save stress of switch over etc and I keep my phone line (will double check when I call them).

The early hours of the morning is when the provider tends to perform firmware updates and that will happen with all providers.

I was, until fairly recently, with Now Broadband and experienced drop-outs.  These happened at various times of the day and I suspect it was their router that was the issue.

I've never used the landline part of any contract, I don't have a handset to plug in.

As CityFibre has been installed in my area I decided to go FTTP and have changed to Zen.  Costs more but much better router, better location for it too.  So far so good.

I got Now BB at my sisters place as our house was being renovated, went with them and after a month start getting serious connection issues late at night, every 2 weeks, multiple tickets later still the same rubbish....

Thankfully house is nearly completed and can't wait to get back for Aquiss 1GB Full fibre!
