does anyone have experience of making a claim through the small claims court- a Refund from Ryanair has not arrived in account and they are not giving me any information about the transaction - just referring me to my back. The account they sent it to is closed. Exhausted all channels

Its tricky with Ryanair. You have to use the Irish Courts sytem.Have you tried the ADR?If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

If the account is closed then the refund won't have arrived back? I assume you have contacted the bank in question?anniebea said:does anyone have experience of making a claim through the small claims court- a Refund from Ryanair has not arrived in account and they are not giving me any information about the transaction - just referring me to my back. Guessing you payed by card, have you asked the bank for a chargeback or Section 75 claim? (Not sure how these work once accounts are closed though)
As above, if it's the main Ryanair they're an Irish company so court action may be tricky. If your cancelled flight was Ryanair UK operated you may be able to use the UK Small Claims system.

Probably worth clarifying specifically which channels you've tried, rather than posters wasting their time suggesting things that you've already tried, as by definition if you've exhausted all channels then there aren't any more to try!anniebea said:does anyone have experience of making a claim through the small claims court- a Refund from Ryanair has not arrived in account and they are not giving me any information about the transaction - just referring me to my back. The bank cant trace any money unless they have details of the transaction which it has not been possible to get from Ryanair. It was a flight starting in the UK .bagand96 said:

When was the refund originated?0

The key differentiator is the airline code not the point of departure - flights operated by Ryanair UK are those with flight numbers starting with RK, whereas the majority are FR numbers, operated by the main (Irish) part of the airline.anniebea said:

Someone mentioned ADR as an option is the specific to airline claims Having problems replying with the quoted post ,sorry0

ADR is a generic term for alternative dispute resolution, but AviationADR is a body dedicated to airline disputes:anniebea said:Someone mentioned ADR as an option is the specific to airline claims Having problems replying with the quoted post ,sorry

However, it's intended to resolve disputes rather than to expedite refunds....0 -
Yesterday - email from Ryanair (crazy it was from someone in customer service who had repeatedly said go to you bank to sort it out).
This email was in response to the email and letter sent to them stating that if they didn't respond in 14 days we would take it to the small claims court.
upshot is that they are processing a replacement refund to the new bank account.- RESULT
Whilst this is great news - it should not be this difficult to communicate with an airline as big as Ryanair without all this hassle - I'm sure they operate this was in the knowledge that a large percentage of people will give up.
The other result of this is - I'm never booking a Ryanair flight again.1
