Thanks Tiger and Rog2. I do have the letter (as amended by Fermi above) to send.

    :j :j

  • cheers everyone.
Switzerland has Dignitasthe UK has DCA's, Bankers and Lawyers.
  • I've just been reading these threads after seeing someones signature about them and I'm wondering at exactly what stage you need to be at to do this.
My mum has quite a bit of credit card debt and is currently unable to work so has little income, MBNA are constantly on the phone beeing rude and agressive calling her a liar and saying she needs to pay more! Virgin (also MBNA?) have offered her a settlement but it is just the debt after the have taken of the £1000 or so in charges and so on.
So to sumarise would it be worth chasing them for the CCA's or do you have to wait until it goes further, my mum is eager to try and pay of as much as she can but it with the way MBNA are beeing they'd like to see us out of a house.

  • I had what Equidebt (MBNA) called a CCA in the post today. It was either photocopied or scanned as it has loads of "BLACK" space on it. The actual agreement bit is about 4cm in height. A scrawled Credit limit written on with no actual place for it and it doesnt say it is a credit limit, i just assume it is.

Their signature is scrawled at the top with no actual place for it and the date stamped underneath with one of those cheap stamps, 2 months after I signed this.....I think they meant to put March but put May instead....no interest amount either.

What do you all think? CCA or NO CCA?

    Weller....Rog????

Will let you know the outcome of mine, one thing I have learnt though is that MBNA are the hardest to deal with, total bar stewards

It sounds as though it may be your 'application form' kev. Have a good look through it to make sure that it contains all of the information that a cca should contain http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=6815188
As previously said - MBNA are extremely slippery customers - often in their 'speed' to ensnare you into debt, they will give credit without following all the necessary proceedures. When this is the case, they can blame nobody but themselves if the whole thing backfires on them.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Weller - what stage are you with MBNA?

    :j :j

  • This is an application form. they have done the usual and blanked off the top part off it. Loads of Black space around it. None of the terms relating to Credit Limit, Interest etc are on it.

    What should I do now...anyone?
