Indigestion in pregnancy (costing me a fortune)

Can anyone help?
I have terrible indigestion (i am 7 months pregnant) - i have had mallox and gaviscon on prescription which was great as free but neither have worked.
I have therefore had to resort back to rennies (expensive and to be honest only slightly effective).
At the end of my tether - really getting me down
Sorry moan over.
Thanks in advance.

Have you been back to GP and explained they do not work because that is what I would be doing they may be able to suggest something more effective for you.
Heartburn was a right pain for me in my pregnancies with the boys I suppose I was lucky as gaviscon did it for me.
Have you done the other things they tell you not eating spicy foods etc
Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011

My midwife said I could take Zantac BUT ONLY after I had a check up with the doctor first, I'm assuming this is just to check I'm in good health.

Zantac is the best heartburn cure IMOCapital one was £1000.00 now £0.00:j
Barclaycard was £250.00 now £190. 00
Asda credit card was £500.00 now £0.00:j

i got bad heartburn in the last 2 months. the best cure i found was a small glass of cold milk.0

Yup, echo the glass of milk. And much nicer and better for you!0

I got a white liquid on prescription when I was pregnant and that worked for me. I think it was called Mucogel.
I also found sleeping with a pillow under my chest, so I was more propped up in bed helped too. Eating frequently helped as well. I was forever nibbling on digestive biscuits or toast! Here I go again on my own....0 -
zantac is the best trust me I had awful heartburn nothing worked, tried zantac 75mg as you can buy over the counter but doctor ended up giving me 150mg ones and it worked a dream...no nasty taste like liquid which i just couldnt take or the rennies made me gag too...as i also suffered with hyperemisis too

ps it is actually zantac or rather ranitidine the generic name they gave me in labour to make sure I had no stomach acid in case I needed a c section.0

A gingernut biscuit nibbled slowly helped me, also making my meals smaller and more often, dont forget at 7 months everything is getting a bit squashed, hope this helpsGrocery Challenge Jan £300

I also grew immune to Gaviscon - Dr prescribed me ranitidine (didnt know that it was zantac
) But it worked wonders - give it a go;) 0
