Carpenters solicitors need advice-car accident

I’m really stuck with what to do…my car insurance is 1st central, I made a claim as I was in a huge no fault car accident which 1st central took on and everything was going well.
Suddenly communication stopped and I was told the company carpenters solicitors are taking over.
I’ve had limited communication with carpenters because they never email back or answer the phone.
I received an email from them saying that the 3rd party insurers have claim I exaggerated injuries which carpenters said they can dispute because of the amount of damage and my injuries. That was in April/may. I asked for an update at the beginning of this month and heard nothing from them. I called and left a voice message and still nothing.
I emailed and asked if there was anything I could send the 3rd party insurers myself and no response.
It feels very frustrating being told suddenly I exaggerated injuries to them hear nothing.
Where should I go from here?

Did you have legal expenses cover on your 1st Central policy or not? Were Carpenters instructed under this cover or is it on a no win, no fee (aka conditional funding arrangement) basis?

As far as I know they take a percentage from any money won.
They told me I can take the 3rd party insurers to court myself though I would pay the costs. The 3rd party insurers are Hastings direct and I was told they are notorious for this, although their client admitted fault (turning onto the main road without looking while being in the wrong lane) they have seen the damage to my car, the medical reports where they found a discrepancy with the hospital report and doctors reports because I developed bladder problems which I didn’t have in the initial hospital report. They have seen details of brain injury.
I dont know what more to do or what more carpenters can do.
  • Don't communicate with the 3rd party insurer.

Legal stuff can be very very slow.  Let it happen.

So you didnt have LE cover and hence it's a blind referral to a conditional funding arrangement so you cannot hold your intermediary responsible for the action of the solicitors.

You need to keep the communications open with your solicitors, significant injury cases however take a lot of time to settle. If you dont feel you are getting adequate communications from your solicitors you need to follow their complaints process, generally it'll be contacting the nominated complaints partner.

I remember being advised about it and not sure if I did. When I asked 1st central for these documents as they were all on an online portal, they told me it can’t be accessed.
Do you think I should ask carpenters outright about it? About the cover? Or should I ask to see my documents?

It should be in the documents when you first bought the policy which could have been sent to your by post, email or via an online portal. Its not directly related to the claim so if you are having trouble accessing them you need to contact their sales and service department for help... dont mention the word "claim" as that will almost certainly get you punted across to the claims team which is the wrong area of the business.
