Broadband Signal Stregth

Options
I have recently "upgraded" my system with EE. That old phrase "I don't know why I bother" seems utterly appropriate.

EE told me at point of sale that they gurantee at leasst a 12mb signal. I told them "in your dreams" but they were adamant. We have always had a poor signal, so - in for a penny ........

The result. Three modems, two Open Reah engineers and countless phone calls later I, for large parts of the day, am getting 0.02 to 0.05mb download and can't get upload at all.

EE say that if they don't meet their gurantee I can cancel after 30 days. I don't want no internet - I want what I am paying for!

Albeit that EE are now a wholly owned subsidiary within the BT group, as are the infrastructure provider Open Reach, everyone is in the not me, him blame game. No-one will give me the name of a manager responsible for the area / region / issue.

The ombudsman says I can only claim after eight weeks, that's five weeks away!

This whole thing is very sad and bad - anyone had a similar exdperience and a better outcome???

What have you upgraded from to ?
What was your previous speed ?
Where do you live - town or back of beyond ?
What does this give for your available speed range ? https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Are you using a wired connection or a wireless connection?
if its the latter then you should try the former, as that would give you a better speed without any of the latency.

And EE's been owned by BT since 2016, that's not new, but has nothing to do with the issue.

But yes what are the checkers saying you should get?  And what did you have before?

Of course nobody will give you a manager name

It's multiple entities, separate entities and departments.

Any manager cannot do any more than you can

And out of interest it's broadband speed not " signal"

I'd suggest that you are in an area distant to the exchange and the nearest green box distribution point . Possibly cable issues are affecting your speed and there are no spare pairs ( you don't mention fully fibre which addresses these issues) .

The estimated speeds you get quoted are a best guess from neighbours speeds

My brother lives in a similar area with very poor speeds and lack of spares
