Tesco Direct

  • I have to say, I can only applaud Tesco Direct. I ordered a dining table on weds. On Thurs I received a text msg to say it would be with me on Saturday & the courier would ring me when they were an hour away to say delivery was iminent. True to form they rang at 8am this morning to say they would be with me within the hour. A little while later they rang me back to say they had hit traffic but the satnav said they were 12 mins away but could possibly be a little longer. They arrived at 9.15, were very polite & even asked if I would like them to bring it inside for me. Don't know which courier firm it was though. I know it's unrelated to the op's problem but it's not often I congratulate Tesco on good customer service.
  • Update

I ended up ordering a replacement laptop yesterday for delivery on Wednesday as Tesco explained that the courier would just retrieve the laptop and return to Tesco warehouse.

It'll leave me a wee bit short this week till the refund is processed, but I know I'm getting the money back at the end of the week/beginning of next so I'm not too worried.

Lo and behold this morning the original laptop is delivered to me! lol
The outer blue bag has holes torn in it but the security seal on the box is intact so I'm happy to accept it. Have rung and they're going to cancel despatch of the second laptop.

    What a palaver!

  • Oh, and it was Home Delivery Network!!!

My sister gets all her catalogue stuff delivered to my house as they use Home Delivery Network as the courier and 17 parcels they have delivered to her address , she hasn't been in and they have been left with neighbours , but no one admits to having the parcel and no card is left by the driver saying where they have left it ! In the end she changed her delivery address to mine , 35 miles away , as the catalogues were understandably beginning to get a bit suspicious about her always not getting the parcels !
