Well.... their couriers to be precise.
I ordered myself a laptop from the Tesco Direct sale.
Tesco's couriers have lost my laptop.
It was delivered and signed for by a Mrs L*** K*****. Never heard of the woman. The courier doesn't know what address it was delivered to either - they assume mine. Nope, nobody's been here and I've waited in all day.
The depot is now shut and they can't do anything about it until Monday when they say they'll interview the driver.
Tesco's initial response was that I should have a word with this L*** K***** and ask her where it is. Well I would if I knew her from adam or knew where she is!
Rang Tesco again, they've told me that the laptop is gone, I won't get it. All they can do is refund me.
They won't send another out, they're going to refund me. I can order another one but I'll be debited for it straight away and I can't afford that so I have to wait for the refund to come through (they say 5 days) before I can order again. Taking a chance on whether or not it will be in stock. They say that is my problem not theirs.
Livid does NOT cover it.
Some lucky so and so got herself a free laptop. How lovely for her.

Sorry to hear, have you checked with your neighbours as the couriers for Amazon dropped a package I ordered to a neighbour a few houses away without leaving a calling card explaining they would do this, it's a good job my neighbours are top guys and dropped it off that same day when I was in.I hate migraines.0

I would, but I don't know many of my neighbours at all, and there are over 100 houses in this estate...0

It's pretty unfair for you to have your title as Tesco Direct when it's the couriers you're moaning about - you also fail to mention the couriers' name!
It looks to me that Tesco have done all they can at the minute; I think you should amend your post to reflect what's actually happened...0 -

Probably Home Delivery Network.
They messed up a PC delivery to someone I was helping out. They delivered the base unit but lost the monitor box. Took a bit of time on the phone to Tesco and a trip to the store the package had gone though but Tesco did send a replacement monitor in the end (actually a better model as a gesture of good will).0 -

Not unfair at all, it is Tesco's choice who they use as their courier, as far as the OP is concerned they ordered from Tesco for a home delivery - if that has failed anywhere along the line Tesco is still responsible.
Plus, now Tesco are holding the OP's money for a further 5 days until the refund clears - I bet it did not take 5 days to leave the OP's account?

I think you have a slight lack of understanding of the banking system - Tesco don't sit on a refund for 5 days before they initiate a refund; they initiate the refund and it takes up to 5 days (usually 3 but depends on the bank) to clear back to the customer's account. If you spend money on a card, it's immediately debited from the card's account otherwise the customer could keep spending the same money.
Deciding who's responsible for the incorrect delivery is easy - it's the courier. Deciding who's responsible for the whole purchase going wrong would be easy - Tesco. You might notice though that Tesco haven't refused to sort it, so actually they shouldn't be blamed as they've done what they can to sort it.
I suppose this sort of thing is dependent on how quick to point the finger, the consumer is. If it were me, I'd be a little more objective and although it's not the best of news, I could live with it knowing that everything's been done to sort it out. Some people (you at a guess) would just point the finger at Tesco, as it's the easiest option to take and doesn't require much of a balanced thought process.0 -
It has nothing to do with finger pointing - the OP's contract is with Tesco, not their courier, to all intents and purposes Tesco is doing the delivery, just because they choose to sub that work out to a courier is their choice. You are trying to seperate the 2, but there is no need to. The OP paid for an item with delivery from Tesco, that has not happened, Tesco are in breach of contract, they should replace the item, instead they have decided to refund which will cause the OP inconvenience, they can not buy another laptop until the funds appear back in their account. Simple really, you are trying to make it more complicated by making the courier blameworthy - they may well be but as far as the OP is concerned it is Tesco's problem and they should not inconvenience the OP because of their choice in couriers.0

^ I disagree, the delivery courier is where fault/blame lies, they are the ones who failed to correctly deliver from Tesco to the OP.
However Tesco should be doing everything possible to locate the missing laptop and ensure it arrives with the OP asap or sending out a replacement but fault still lies with the delivery company - & I agree probably will have been that shower Home Delivery Network :rolleyes:
Hopefully retailers will soon realise just how poor a delivery service is given to their customers when forcing them to accept delivery via HDNLThe £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00 :rolleyes: :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.
