I need to get a 2FA browser extension on my laptop, in order to receive the 2FA codes
What would you suggest is best one/ easiest to set up?

2FA is just an acronym for two form factor authentication. There is no way enough information to be able to recommend any "browser extension" without knowing what you are trying to achieve and for what service. Some basic services will have username/password as form one and a texted code for form two. Our work laptops use biometrics for form 1 and a push notification using Okta for form 2. You can't get a browser extension that deals with both.
Personally as a Mac user iCloud stores username/password with biometrics to retrieve and phone and laptop are synched so texted code is a simple click to insert but I'm feeling you want something else.0 -

As i understand it they produce a QR code which needs scanned and then 6 digit code produced.I dont use smartphone/tablet so someone suggested a browser extension authenticator may be the answer.0 -
Having such an extension would make the implementation of 2FA that Trading 212 are insisting on meaningless. The second authentification here is a code generated on an authorised second device. Means you need both the logged in web session and the phone/tablet in your possession to make that withdrawal.
Good luck if you think you can bypass this, might be better to ask 212 for advice, they might have another solution like a USB key or some such.1 -
But most I found from a quick search seemed to be for Ios or Android...0

At the present they dont have that facility, but have passed my suggestion/feedback on. So no further forward really.0 -
Not really looked into a desktop TOTP generator but seems like for Windows there is one https://winauth.github.io/winauth/
Can't vouch for it personally though.0 -
Trading 212 are, unsurprisingly, only supporting the google or Microsoft Authenticator apps on smartphones.0

I don't know anything about the 2FA QR code 212 will give you but if it's indeed compatible with "the google or Microsoft Authenticator" as @Vitor wrote they will work with any TOTP authenticator that's compatible with those two, eg the one posted by @400ixl.
FWIW I'm using KeePassXC to store all my passwords (as wells as the TOTP code secrets) and also use it to generate the 2FA codes, available for Windows and Linux (on Android I use keepass2android for the same purpose).
Works like a charm.0 -

The problem is wanting 1st and 2nd form on the same device. I've used Okta, Microsoft Authenticator and others installed on both laptop and mobile but with all but Adobe's option the app is only triggered on the device I'm not using despite both device's app being logged into the same account.0
