    Going to back track here, as I was under the impression from the posts that the van was far more burnt than just a bit in the engine bay.
    This does just look like a mechanical fault & as such not covered.

    I would be taking this to the garage who did the most recent work. 

    Also I’m no expert but I would think it is repairable

    just for clarity, if text is in bold in the insurance documents that usually means that that word or phrase is defined to have a specific meaning within the document which is stated.

    It's not back as it happened this Monday.
     I've agreed a price so hopefully should be back in 10 to 15 days.
    Surely your breakdown cover will sort the repatriation?

    I dread to think the cost of shipping a, what, 8m three-axle back...
