We were on holiday, we don't live full time in it, they have a none payout in the insurance policy booklet that says .( For any mechanical, electrical, electronic, computer or computer software breakdown, failure, fault or breakage).
But when ever it's to do with the motorhome such as this part
(For loss or damage caused by water entering your motorhome through seams or seals.)
The words your motorhome is used in bold print, which is clearly to do with the vehicle it's self  but the mechanical,. electrical, electronic computer, computer software breakdown and so on is open to anything from a light bulb to windscreen wiper, fridge to the flushing toilet .
The wording open to  more than one interpretation

So is this a fully comp policy, 3rd party Fire & Theft or 3rd party only?

Did you not query the exclusion for fire etc?

Interesting that lexham do both Motorhome & Campervan ins.

Interesting that MotorHome 3rd party, fire & theft says.
This insurance type covers you for any third-party damage or injury, plus any fire-related damage to or theft of your vehicle.
    Full comp then adds.
Fully comprehensive motorhome insurance from Lexham offers you complete cover. You will be covered for all of the aforementioned, as well as any accidental damage to your vehicle due to an accident.

I would be raising a complaint.

Yes they mention * T/C apply but there is not mention/link of these on the front page.

Op has still not made clear the extent of damage beyond the garage saying it’s beyond repair

Or any indication on the cause as from my experience things don’t usually burst into fire randomly

Garage would not be at a guess a ins approved assessor, given it is oversea's. So are ins co taking their advice?
As I said before if this happened to a car, as often does. Do they not get paid out? As not heard of that.

I would be arguing & complaining that this is a unfair term of the policy, given the link in my previous post. They can't say one thing on the front page, then disclaim it in the T/C. ASA & FOS would have them over the coals for that.

Hi sorry it's fully comp,  the photos not the best, I'm no expert the near side of the engine is burnt from bottom to the top of the engine bay, there's no breaks or clutch I would think the pipes are burnt as is all the wiring

What started the fire I don't know, we had traveled around 200mile on Monday,, when this happened.
I had driven from vitoria to around 40 or 60 miles south of Salamanca on the A66.
At this point we was traveling up hill and the power start to drop I changed down to forth gear but it continues losing power.
I was maybe 40 or so feet from junction 408 and enough forward movement to roll off the A66 onto the 408 junction and down hill to the second exit on the roundabout were. I came to a stop shown in the above photo.
It was at this point we seen the smoke and then flames.
At no point was there any indication something was going wrong, until I hit the hill I was in 6th gear on cruise control, as I started up hill I changed down to 5th all seemed normal.
I hope this helps explain a bit better.

Insurers will cover for fire if the vehicle is stolen or a result of an accident. Not for something which relates to the maintenance of the vehicle. No different to if a wheel bearing locks up and damages drive shafts / braking systems etc or the engine blows up. Expensive to repair but not the insurers liability.

It was only full service 7 weeks ago when anything needed doing was done you don't pay £55,000 spend another £7,000:on upgrade to let the small thing like maintenance slip by we spent over£600 on shocks and springs 4 mouth ago and another £455 4 day before leaving for a throttle control valve and throttle control valve cable

You have my empathy.  No one said that maintenance has slipped. As yet the cause hasn't been identified. Not an insurable risk though. Hence the exclusion clauses.

Insurance company o not consider the incident is covered by  their policy- it is not an accident.

Motorhome is now back in UK.

You said 'they' are willing to get it inspected - Is that happening?

Once you know the potential cause of the fire you can review any  further  options.  Could the work done just before you travelled have played a part in the fire happening?

I donlt think you can do much until you get any answers as the cause of the fire and the cost of replacing engine/ repairing any subsequent damage to motorhome.

It's not back as it happened this Monday.
I've agreed a price so hopefully should be back in 10 to 15 days.
I'm going to get my own independent inspection as you say could be a fault in the part fitted, don't think it the garage as there really good and well used locally, but there's always a chance, all though a new part it could be a manufacturing fault
