flights to USA

Hello, shouting out for some help here.
I need to fly out to the USA - New York anytime after the 22 nd August and can return any time after the 12 th September.
Preferably flying from London/Bristol/Birmingham although would consider Manchester as last resort.
I have been searching on 6/7 flight search websites for the last few days and cannot seem to get my head around it. It’s all so too much. 😨
I would prefer a shorter/direct flight outwards although I don’t mind a longer flight return to UK.
A checked baggage is essential although a cabin bag is not necessary if it keeps the fares low.
I hope fellow members do not mind my post.
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE. 👍

I prefer booking direct with the airline. Go to virginatlantic.comIf you're on a budget then I hear Premium Economy is not too far behind Upper Class.0

Birmingham and Bristol do not have direct flights to New York so you'd be looking at a connecting flight via a European hub. Direct flights are available from London Heathrow and Gatwick.
You'll have to add a checked bag whichever airline you fly with as nearly all charge extra for this now. Most comparison sites will have a filter for this so they can show you prices including the bag.
Booking direct with the airline is a good idea. Comparison sites will show the cheapest prices which can be via online travel agents, the airline may be a few quid more.
Google flights is an easy comparison site and will let you search date ranges for the cheapest results.0 -
It was mentioned in another recent thread that flying via Dublin has a couple of advantages - it can be cheaper by virtue of avoiding the high UK APD charge for long-haul routes and also involves passing through US customs & immigration in Dublin, where queues are typically much more manageable than in the States.
Whether or not such factors are enough to warrant the indirect routing is up to the individual but potentially worth checking out, especially if hoping to depart from a regional airport in the UK....2 -

I have had a look, they are beyond my budget nevertheless thank you all the same.
I am sure it would be cheaper if I had booked way in advance.
My trip is a last minute need trip.
Thank you all the same though.0 -
Hello I heard the same too although I am based in Wales so will be a bit of a mission.eskbanker said:It was mentioned in another recent thread that flying via Dublin has a couple of advantages - it can be cheaper by virtue of avoiding the high UK APD charge for long-haul routes and also involves passing through US customs & immigration in Dublin, where queues are typically much more manageable than in the States.

You are somewhat short on your budget unfortunately.
With a checked bag you are looking at £560+ with a stopover and £650+ direct
www.momondo.co.uk is a good site to use to try to find flights. You should then look at booking them direct with the airline.

Forget about £400 if you want to put luggage in the hold. Don't waste your time searching. Under £400 without checked in luggage is achievable. But add £50 to your budget and it can be done. £447 from the 29th of August to the 21st of September includes 10kg of hand luggage and 23kg of checked in luggage. Direct flights from Gatwick to JFK booked via the airline. Don't dally. I got out of bed to find a flight for you.WACS said:Hello, shouting out for some help here.

Norse Atlantic are a low cost option from Gatwick. Their website is quite used friendly and shows the days with the cheapest fares. However even with them I think you'll struggle for £400
