you can call Santander and ask for your statement date to be changed to anything that suits you1

I'll see how I get on with a strange billing date, and if I hate it I will try ringing again.
Try 0330 678 1783 - seems to be for credit cards ?

That number on googling it is very interesting, the first result shows a 'who called me' site where it's overwhelmingly negative and sounds perhaps like scammers are cloning the number pretending to be from Santander? However the second result shows Santander advertising the number, strange.NoodleDoodleMan said:grimble37 said:I asked to when prompted by the automated system, but no idea if I actually did, because the conversation was very brief, as soon as I realised there was no understanding I said thanks I'll have to leave it, goodbye. I would contact them if I thought I was certain to get the facts, but I'm old enough and wise enough to know it's likely that I won't.NoodleDoodleMan said:Only when activated AFAIK.You'd be best to contact Santander credit card department to get a precise cyclical best case scenario for you.
Watch out for the quasi-cash
Asked them the question yesterday online gambling lottery tickets etc no cash back the etc is what I wanted to no but didn't get pass the etc so will have to wait for 2 months to see if all purchases have qualified0 -

I visited our local(ish) Santander this lunchtime, was in the vicinity anyway - spoke with the young lady at service desk on this matter - there is no straightforward "user friendly" way to get the precise date as sought. When the account is actived and operational the branch can action a MIRO - no, please don't ask, it's rocket science to me as well - or by the customer direct over the 'phone.1

I called and changed it to the 1st but it's different to my usual cards in that the monthly start date can change if the 1st falls on a weekend or bank holiday, which is quite annoying, I like to think the 1st is the start of a new monthly billing cycle, but that won't always be the case with this card, I guess I'll adapt, worse things happen at sea.NoodleDoodleMan said:I visited our local(ish) Santander this lunchtime, was in the vicinity anyway - spoke with the young lady at service desk on this matter - there is no straightforward "user friendly" way to get the precise date as sought. When the account is actived and operational the branch can action a MIRO - no, please don't ask, it's rocket science to me as well - or by the customer direct over the 'phone.0 -
At least you have managed to get it sorted, even if not exactly as you would have preferred. The worst case scenario would be when the 1st falls on a Bank Holiday Friday ?0

Yes, in that case the beginning of the monthly billing cycle would be the 5th. I'm not sure I'll have the card after the first year of 2% cashback ends, I think I'll go stoozing again then.NoodleDoodleMan said:At least you have managed to get it sorted, even if not exactly as you would have preferred. The worst case scenario would be when the 1st falls on a Bank Holiday Friday ?0
