Chip ISA transfer-in problem

Hi, I have a Chip cash ISA and have been trying to put in a transfer request via their app to move in in money from another ISA of mine that’s recently matured, but I keep getting the following error message - “A 400 error was returned for this endpoint.” I have emailed the Chip support team about this but there’s been no response from them over the past few days.

Anyone here currently having the same problem?

Can't help but it doesn't appear to be an issue affecting everyone as I instructed a Chip ISA transfer from Skipton yesterday with no issues.

My transfer completed on Tues and no issues with submitting it

Thanks for the replies. Chip has just got in touch with me and explained the situation. Apparently my cash ISA balance is far too big to be transferred whole into Chip without first giving the other provider my written authorization. Chip only does total balance transfers at the moment so I’m now looking to draw off some of the money to another couple of ISAs I also hold, until it falls before the limit and I can try again!

What is the limit - is it Chip that's imposing the policy?
It will likely be the existing ISA manager who has a policy around collecting a wet ink signature for transfers above a certain limit. ISA managers are entitled to request this for any transfer, but now electronic transfers are common, the practice is discouraged.

The Chip cash ISA has a maximum investment limit of £85,000 so the transfer takes it over that it will be rejected

I guess someone will need to tell https://moneyfactscompare.co.uk/isa/easy-access-cash-isas/ and get them to update their "view further details" pop-out box.

    From the horse's mouth:

"There is no maximum limit on the amount that may be held in the Chip Cash ISA."

EDIT: The above is from their terms and conditions. However, the account summary drop down on their website says £85k. One is correct. I wonder if they changed it but have not updated the website.

Whether or not there is an £85k limit, or the ISA being transferred is above this limit (unwise if it is), this reason is inconsistent with what the OP was told by Chip:

Hi all, thanks for all the follow-up replies and sorry for not answering sooner. I however owe you all an explanation. The ISA I was trying to transfer to Chi was with Virgin Money, who I previously also had a M-Plus bank account with that I closed after they kept stopping some transactions out of it (which were all legitimate by the way). After I contacted them about this new issue they replied that they’d also put a stop to all transactions on my ISA, which they didn’t tell me about at the time. They say the shop has now been removed and I am free to move all my money out now!
