My son has started his own claim. Do I need to contact Universal Credit or will the changes be actioned automatically? His official college finish date is 31 July. I don't know if I should put this in my own journal ?

I expect it will be necessary for you to make a request on your journal to remove him from your claim. You should confirm the date his claim started. I expect that in your assessment period in which he started his claim, you will no longer receive the child element for him from that period onwards. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Firstly, if their official course end date is 31st July, they are officially still a student and will not be eligible to claim UC until the course has officially ended. However, once they have made a claim for UC in their own right, as @tacpot12 says, you must remove them from your claim by reporting a change under Children and other people who live with you. The date of the change should be the date they made their claim for UC.Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter0
