Vodafone credit check rejection

Hello, I have an 'excellent' credit score according to Experian (993/999) and I don't think I have every been rejected yet I have tried to apply for a sim only contract via mobiles.co.uk and just got notified that I have been rejected. They highlight they won't be able to elaborate as to why. As I'm keen to change to Vodafone as getting a cellular Apple Watch (buying the watch separately) Vodafone has the best deal it looks like. What are my options now? I read somewhere that I can't apply for another Vodafone contract again for at least another 90 days. Is that correct? Do I just have to wait or go with another network, or is there a way to get this overturned via mobiles.co.uk or can I apply for another Vodafone contract via another third party provider if I find another good deal?

Thanks

Your credit score is meaningless and you can safely ignore it.

If you want to be with Vodafone why not apply with Vodafone? No one will because no one apart from Vodafone have access to their internal credit and anti-fraud algorithms and they will not disclose those to customers.

That depends, did the application ever reach Vodafone?

Why are you trying to apply via a third party, rather than direct with Vodafone?

Check your credit reports with all three agencies, ignore rhe score, that is just a marketing gimmick and means nothing. Look for accounts, missed payments etc. Do you have any other debts, are you on the electoral roll, do you have credit cards, a mortgage etc.?

And remember it’s not just whether you are “good for the money”. Providers typically make business decisions based on a variety of factors in combination such as address, credit history, CIFAS information, employment type etc etc

It could be as simple as an address error somewhere. A member once posted something similar and it turned out they hadn’t updated their address with the bank when they moved

Thanks! The reason I want to go with a third party is because their deals are so much better than directly with Vodafone.
I don't have any debt, have credit cards but pay in full monthly, I am in full time employment, my bank has the same address as where I live (I did check as I recently moved but I must have changed it as soon as I moved), I haven't missed any payments and I am on the electoral roll as voted in the last election.
I'm keen to know what my next steps could be regarding Vodafone as I don't want to make my credit worse by applying again so soon as I read that could be the case.

I'm with Lebara but although they use Vodafone they don't have a cellular plan option for an Apple Watch (which is the only reason I'm moving).

Did you request Vodafone https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/onenumber ? Normal sim only plans do not work with watches

You need to have a PAYM contract in place before you can add the OneNumber eSIM plan.

Yes I'm aware - so I was trying to get a normal mobile sim only contract with Vodafone (via mobiles.co.uk) and once that is set up then request to have the OneNumber contract for my watch. But I got rejected for the mobile sim contract for some reason and no sure if I can try to get another Vodafone contract now or wait 3 months as I don't want this to effect my credit situation and it cause more problems

Network providers don't use external finance houses for SIM-only contracts.
