those links are fascinating, well if he doesn't want help, it may be due to depression or stress.
such a shame, you should show him our posts.

don't know why the debt charity said chuck £2000 into your debts, instead of buying things,  and the creditors won't send him a Xmas card.
the charity should have said he is allowed to spend on things that are fair and reasonable and normal in living a decent life.

now he has £2000 less in his bank for when the dro ends, which he probably start buying things at that point
now he wants to line the creditors pockets who  initially costs them peanuts to lend him the money in the first place

So he`s OK with insolvency which writes off all his debts, but not OK with keeping the 2k cash he has accrued.

That honestly makes no sense whatsoever, but there you go.

can he pay lots of weeks rent and council tax in advance instead or pay the remaining council tax for the year

or just go bulk buying when shopping, tins, dried food, meat you can freeze
I don't think that effects what his monthly standard outgoings are in reality
eg I paid my car insurance in one go, but on my dro application I still divided it by 12 and put down the monthly amount as a regular expense , the same with road tax I did

does he have fear that his dro will be revoked sometime in the 12 months and he's back to paying off his creditors again
