Clothes company folds then gives my details to a new company? Stitch fix/Outfittery

Vectis said:Well, it might be in the original company's t&c's that your details can be passed on to a new company, but it doesn't sit very well from a consumer's point of view that you can start being billed, and at higher pricing levels and for more goods, by a different company, especially after being told that the original company was ceasing trading. Is it down to the consumer, after being told that the company was no longer trading, to be so very vigilant that they read every single email which arrives unsolicited from a previously unheard of company? That doesn't sound right. But, I agree with what others have said, log into your account, close it and return anything which arrives in the meantime.0

Well saddened but not surprised to see this company appear in another thread in the last day or so

It seems this person's card got automatically charged - after 2 weeks only not 30 days - and they are saying they did not receive the return.
I am hoping those that gave me advice are correct that my card details won't be transferred to the new company.
My box has now been returned and I have emailed to close my account - I have had an acknowledgement reply. Hoping that is the end of it but hanging on tight to that proof of postage.2 -
Outfittery UK is currently having a rough ride on Trustpilot over what looks like a marketing wheeze that has gone wrong.

Lots of other former Stitch-Fix customers are equally enraged1 -

If it's already pending, the same only the company can remove a authorisation.Life in the slow lane0 -

Thankfully they have now received my return, although it has taken a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that means I won't be charged.2
