Pre approved on clearscore

First up, I know pre approved generally doesn't guarantee anything, from a personal point though I've found before that being pre approved on there got me when I needed at the time
Looking for a balance transfer card, the eligibility checker for a NatWest card on MSE said 0%, Clearscore said pre approved. If I go through the clearscore am I effectively messing myself up for future credit as I'll potentially be declined?
As I say, I've often had same situation and been given what I wanted, maybe with lower term. Fear is doing it now and it not coming off for whatever reason

Does the eligibility checker suggest any where else?

Oddly enough, I logged out of clearscore, back in and I now have 0 offers 😬0 -
OP - have you tried Natwest's own eligibility checker on its website for the card you want?

I've been pre-approved for a few cards over the last year on so on Clearscore and every application has been successful.
That said, I've never been pre-approved for any of the main banks, just the likes of JaJa, Zopa, Marbles e.t.c..1 -

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Likewise never had a decline following a "pre-approval" on clearscore.
Oddly on one occasion they said pre-approved with x% interest rate, went to the lender in question and used their soft search option and got a "likely to be accepted" but at a higher interest rate. Went back to clearscore, clicked through to the lender, completed the application and was approved at the lower APR1 -
I've got 2 cards that were pre-approved on clearscore. Started off at £200 limits but both have been increased since..
Did try a third (might have been Zopa) as I was going to get rid of the second card (not keen on their app), and they wanted pay slips. Sent some in and they came back saying they apparently didn't say how much I was earning, and they then wanted bank statements. Just left it at that point, but may have got a hard search from it. Not planning on applying for anything for the rest of the year, so not worried about that search.
Jaja Vanta (never heard of it) at present on clearscore bar some loan that needs to be guaranteed by someone, and some "pay us a fee of £9.99-£14 a month" for this card sort of thing.
Default on my account hits 6 years next week, so will se if anything better comes along (although if I handle the cards well and pay them off, the interest isn't too much of an issue)
May drop to a single card as well as too much temptation.
