So I got an email regarding the mediation phase. I chose to make myself available while overseas instead of delegating to someone else, which by the way included filling out a form. The mediation process seems straightforward, but the attached descriptive document only talks about "Developing options", "Building agreement", "Settlement Options", etc. Am I going to be coerced into a deal? Because I don't want to pay these bloodthirsty thieves anything and I am happy to defend my case in court.

Mediation is dealt with in the newbies sticky thread or the 12 steps in the defence template thread

A quick no compromise, no agreement, and you are done with mediation, 5 minutes call. ( Mediation is rarely suitable in private parking claims, those categories relate more to rent arrears or phone contracts etc. )

So... Just 2 weeks before the hearing, they withdrew their case. Over the last months, they sent me settlement offers going up to 50%. They wanted "only" 50% of imaginary money, which I should never have been asked to pay anyway. I checked if I could counter-sue them for the emotional distress they caused me, but it seems that it is unlikely to succeed.

Anyway, I would like to thank the people here who guided me through a stressful time. And the knowledge I gained is immense. May you all live happily ever after.
